World HVAC market in focus
The last six months have been challenging for the industry. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused trading halts in parts of the world and disrupted global supply chains. BSRIA has interviewed key HVAC manufacturers and distributors in 20 major world markets to report on the effects of Covid-19 in the first half of the year.
RICS launches this month its new European construction survey, where experts confirm construction activity declined in Europe during the second quarter of the year, workload falling across all markets and with recovery prospects muted for now, with a few exceptions.
UK Consumer Confidence improves two points in September
GfK’s long-running Consumer Confidence Index has increased two points to -25 for September. Three measures increased, one decreased and one stayed the same in comparison to the August 21st announcement.
CRESME has released data from August edition of the CRESME / CLab indicator, an industry survey in which about twenty of the most important manufacturers and distributors of building materials and systems participate. After the gradual improvement observed in all the post-lockdown months, the monthly summary indicator shot up in August, indicating a growth in activity in the construction sector of + 30% compared to the same period of 2019.
While waiting for the go-ahead to the overhauled Drinking Water Directive (DWD), some EU member states, as well as the UK, have already started implementing methods for microbiological analysis of water quality suggested in the new rules.
